Have you ever dropped your phone on yourself when watching videos? Or maybe you can’t find a decent pop socket to suit your phone? A pop socket is a tool used to support your phone from falling on your face when held upright. Many are used on the back of phones. Some can be expensive and very hard to find. I have found a pop socket that fits both needs, and you can make it yourself!! How cool is that? Read more to find the perfect pop socket to save your phone and your face!
This DIY pop socket starts off with a bottle cap, yes, I said a bottle cap. I recommend choosing a bottle cap that best suits your fingers. I chose an orangeade bottle cap. The next material you will need is a type of adhesive. It is best not to use spray adhesive on a painted phone case, as the area will bubble up. Instead, use rubber cement. Additionally, you will need your phone case. (These materials can be decorated.) Now on to the procedure.
Similar to materials, there are not many steps to make this DIY pop socket. The first thing you want to do is to take your phone case off your phone. Next, take your spray adhesive or rubber cement and rub on the area your want to stick our bottle cap on. Place your bottle cap on the area. Then, take your adhesive and place a thin layer on the bottom of the bottle cap. Let the adhesive dry for at least 24 hours. Some of the area might permanently be a little sticky due to the adhesive, but it is a little price to pay for this wonderful DIY.
So, that is your DIY pop socket. I have tried this myself, and it has changed my life. The rubber cement is so strong that I had to push with all my effort to pull it off! If you are having trouble finding the right pop socket, then stop right here. This could be your solution.
