I have grandson that I have adopted and a grandson that I am raising, they have both been in a small Christian school where the high-school classes are together grades 9-12. My 10th grader has taken 11th grade English this year would he be able to take his 10th grade English in the 11th grade? Same type of things for my 9th grader. Also they have different mandatory electives such as Bible Spelling and speech would they be able to receive high school credit towards graduation.  Thank you,  Karen

How do I make my 7th graders schedule? I want to make sure she’s doing what the teacher’s want her doing each week. This is our 2nd year with GACA (my son is in high school) but this is the 1st year for my daughter. The high school schedule is already made so I don’t have to worry about it. This year there are no online orientations like there were last year. Thanks for your help!

    Good Afternoon, Cathie Dominguez.

Thank you for your interest in Connections Academy.

One of the many benefits of our schools is that while our program offers the convenience of completing schooling at home they also offer the benefits of a traditional public school. For you and your three students, this means that we will provide you with all of the textbooks, reading books, and workbooks that you need, the lessons and assignments that meet and/or exceed state guidelines will be created for you, and the classes will be lead by state-certified teachers.

You are correct that having three 5-year olds may be a bit more difficult than only having one, but it should be noted that having three students in the same grade should make it a bit easier than if they were in different grades. Also, I’d like to mention that elementary school students generally only need to spend up to 30% of their time on a computer so you will be able to work with all three of them at a desk/table the majority of the time. In addition, if you do not have another parent/guardian who can help you I encourage you to add another individual to your account who can serve as a learning coach. Lastly,  our teachers are very accessible throughout the day and they will do whatever they can to ensure your students’ success.

If you have additional questions or concerns I encourage you to contact our Enrollment and Academic Placement offices at 1-800-382-6010, M-F 9am-6pm EST. Please note that starting no Monday 7/18 these offices will be open fro 9am-9pm EST.

Thank you once again for your interest,

    Beth

  17. How do I contact my daughter’s online school where she’s been accepted? I have questions on when she’ll get the rest of her textbooks & learn who her teachers will be.  Classes start on 6 September, but am trying to be prepared (as her learning coach) before then.

  18. Jackie Yocum says:

I have my eighteen year old who is graduating high school this year. Who started off with the first four years in connections, and then had went to the eighth grade in K-12. Now I have my five year old and he is starting the same way. It gave a good start for my daughter who is graduating this year, and I know it will him too.

  19. Do not understand y this has to be done every year. She has been in here for 6 years.

Hi, I spent 25 days trying to get my student accepted into SCCA.  Met with the secretary of our former elementary school [on a Tuesday], and found her at wits end [as am I] about what else we could possibly do to satisfy the administrations wants/requirements.  The next day I opened Connexus and my e-mail, to find my student ” magically” accepted.  To my surprise our inbox was filled with a lot of videos for me and my student, and assignments for her, listing as being “behind”.  With all this said, I have diligently been working to even get through the LC videos in the required time, and today I note my student has 5 assignments waiting, and we’re out of town tomorrow w/a very important doctors appointment for the student.

I am trying to stay positive, as a health problem with my student is what led us here…but to be honest, I feel I am DROWNING, and my anxiety level is about to spill over the top.  Yes, my student is starting very late [but that’s a story between SCCA and me].  I also have another student who is still in public school and there are travel times to and from school each day, not to mention homework.  Today, I think I have schedule two online sessions for a LC lesson that is the same lesson, and I don’t know how to cancel one of them.

  27. John DeBlasio says:

Thank you, tomorrow is our first day in “K”, w/ my son Alex…I hope we do good!
