In a world where many people enjoy mainly mainstream singers and ignore all the other genres, you may find those artists really overrated. Don’t like any of them out there today? Don’t worry. There are plenty of artists out there that are not as successful, yet have more talent than the popular ones. Here are some artists that are underrated with loads of talent.
Marina and the Diamonds
A singer-songwriter with fun flair and her deep slinky voice, Marina and the Diamonds is one of those artists that has fun, unique twists on her music. Inspired by those like Britney Spears, Fiona Apple, and even having opened for Katy Perry before, Marina made her own style that’s different from what you generally see. She made her debut with her first single “Obsessions” in 2009, climbing to the top of the UK charts, making her a popular star. Sounds on her albums evolve and change overtime, focusing on different themes, while still have meaningful, powerful lyrics. She’s not a mega-successful superstar, but unlike today’s artists, she manages to stay original and unique, without having to become a sell-out

Another underrated singer, Charli XCX possesses a moody, yet distinctive quality in her voice. Even before then, she made music that’s mostly dark-pop, with an edgy vibe to it. With her newer music, she takes a more retro and naughty approach, than what she does in her earlier content. Her uniqueness and personality is what makes her different from most pop artists, along with having substance and depth, yet still being fun to listen to.

With her amazing talent, she deserves more recognition like some of the biggest pop artists out today.
