Here are some mind-blowing hacks you didn’t know that could help save you from future catastrophes.
Recently, IOS 8 has been at the top of its game with the new design, device-connecting, and lovable shortcuts. Most people think they know all the tricks and shortcuts of Apple, but here are some that not everyone knows.
Don’t want to deal with ads and popups? Go to Safari. > Click the search bar. > Swipe down. > Click “Request Desktop Site.” Then you get all text with no ads or problems.
What’s Killing My Battery?
See what’s eating at your battery! Settings > General > Usage > Battery Usage > Scroll down.
Be Lazy with Spotlight Search
Are you too lazy to click the iTunes icon? Go to Home Screen > Swipe down > Search. You can also change what this searches for: General > Spotlight Search. It’s easy peasy.
“It’s Childproof, Nothing to Lose. Fire away, fire away.”
No one can say no to a kid who wants to play games, but then again, no one wants them to post their embarrassing pictures either. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access > Turn on. You can set a timer and a pass code while using Guided Access. Then you can rest easy.
Need to multitask? When you get a message banner at the top of your screen, just swipe down and answer!
Have Siri enabled? Simply say, “Hey, Siri” and tell Siri what you need. Now, you can bake a cake, eat cake, and ask Siri what’s in German Chocolate Cake without getting flour all over your iPhone.
What’s That Song?
Is Shazam taking too long to load? Get that song before it’s over! Just ask Siri, “What song is this?” during any song currently playing. Now, you can jam out in peace.
Become the Polyglot with Perfect Pronunciation
Learning a language with no one to practice with? Go to Settings > General > Siri > Language and change the language to the one you’re learning. Siri’s just a button click or a “Hey Siri” away. Problem solved.
“I Lost it Again.”
Lost your dead iPhone again? We’ve all had one time where our phone dies and can never be found again. Save the depression by going to Settings > iCloud > Find My (device) > Switch on “Send Last Location”. This will let you know the last location since your device died. Never let your phone disappear into a black hole ever again.
Embarrassing Photos “Erased”
Did your friend find an embarrassing photo of your most recent pig face? Avoid the shame by going to Photos > Photos > Touch and hold down the photo you want to hide > Click “Hide”. Now you can save the “I Was Bored” story for another day.
Removed Photos Returned
Admit it, you’ve probably accidentally deleted a nostalgic photo of your family or important information. Don’t worry, you can go to Photos > Albums > Recently Deleted and recover that photo which you mistakenly threw out.
“It’s Too Bright!”
Is the picture too bright or too dark? Turn the brightness of your picture (not screen) up or down by going into Camera and tapping an area of the photo until you see a sun. From there, just drag the sun up or down, according to how bright you prefer it. You have the power!
